17/03/10: Library

Today our class went to the library to look aroud and see if their were any good places where we could do interviews. We lernt that you should not place a camera facing a windowb ecause it will let too much light in the view so the qulity will go down. One good place we found for the interviews was upstairs at the top of the library. We placed the camera away from the window and set it up so we could see if there was too much light or sound from the traffic just outside the window. We found out that it could easily be used for our interviews.

Ways we hear about them

Ways you can hear about conflicts:

Newspapers - newspapers contain information about things that have happened on the previous day. Using newspapers for news might soon be obsolete because you can now get news on the internet and on TV for that day where as news paper is for the day before.

Word of mouth - word of mouth will always be a way of finding out news because people will always talk about what is happening that day or the day before so this way of telling news will properly stay forever.

Radio - News on the radio is for that day. It is spoken to everybody. Radios may become obsolete because not may people use them anymore and so in 20 years time you may not be able to get the news on radios anymore.

TV - Getting the news on TV's is one of the most popular ways of finding out the news today because nearly everybody has one. This means that getting the news on TV will remain for a long time. The news if for that day and it can be accessed at any time of day because there are specialised news channels where the only thing on is news.

Internet - The internet will always be a good way of getting news because the internet is constantly being updated. Companies that make newspapers often have websites where people can go on and look up what news there is. The news id always for that day and unlike reading a newspaper it is free to access so the internet may replace the newspaper as a way of getting the news.

Teletext - Teletext is a older way of getting news for that day. You have to have a TV with teletext and put find the channel with the news on. Although you can get that days news teletext will not be around much longer a few TV's still use it. TVs with teletext are slowly being replaced by digital TVs.

Interviews - You cannot find out much news by doing an interview and only very important news like wars and other big stories. Interviewing people will always be a was of finding out about news but only for major news.
