How do we record things
Written
Diaries - Information can be recorded in a diary. A diary is usually when a person writes about his/her life. Diaries can be written on paper like a book, on a pod cast or as a blog on the internet. These are not the only ways they can be written but are a few.
Books - Another way information can be recorded is in a book. A book is like a diary except it is not always about a person’s life for example a book written about a conflict could be written about one persons experiences in a conflict or about the conflict in general.
Visual
Films - A film is different to photos because with a photo you can only get a limited amount of information but with a film it is alot easier to capture a scene because you can hear what is happening instead of just looking at it. Using films to record information is a relatively new thing because today film cameras are smaller eg. Today it is easier to take a camera into a conflict because when it comes to using it is easier and more compact. This means that as well as photos film will become more popular as a way of recording information.
Photos - Photos can be used to record information because unlike a book or a diary it can capture the specific moment that you want. Taking photos is becoming more popular today because like with film cameras they are becoming smaller so you can go any where with them. Another thing about them that will make them more popular is that the quality of images that you can take is increasing.
Audio
Audio recorder - An audio recorder is a way of recording information without taking pictures. They are used to get the sound of thing and can be used for interviews and they are also another way people can record diaries because they can talk to it and record the information like they would with a diary. Audio recorders are slowly becoming more unpopular because of film.

Interview with Mr.Ings
We had to interview Mr. Ings. Mr. Ings is a British solider who was a railway engineer who was called into the army. He was already in the Territorial Army so he went straight into the army as an engineer. He was put on an island off the coat of Britain. It was his job to fix the antiaircraft funs when the broke. After he finished on the island he was involved in d-day. During d-day he was asked to watch a young solider but he was killed. Later in the war he was working in Germany and a German sergeant surrendered to him. His unit was also tasked with capturing a German rocket factory. When he and his unit went into the rocket factory all of the workers and the scientists surrendered to him and the German scientists agreed to help them learn about the rockets. By the end of the war he was a sergeant. At the start of the interview I asked him to tell everybody a bit of information about him and what he did during the war. I think that we could have controlled the interview a bit better because after I asked him the first question he kept talking for the majority of the interview so we could have tried to intervene so that other people could ask some questions. To improve on this we could try to learn how to cut in if somebody talks for to long without being too rude.
